I have been reading a lot of forums and blogs about recommended writer's software and I've tried a few more, today. I'm eager to get my current lot of writing ready for the writing contracts to take to my equivalent of business contracts lawyer raleigh nc.
I have used Word for three decades. Gosh, I'm hooked on it. Bought every update and run it on both Mac and Windows computers.
I do try the new writing programs, bought far too many and always returned to Word.
Of the two, the Windows version gives me a far better Australian English spelling than the Mac version. The Mac tries to give me the incorrect Australian spelling for words such as manoeuvre which my Mord for Mac tries to make into, maneuver.
Even simple words such as stoney, my Word for M tries to change to stony. So Windows word is far superior for Australian English than the latest Mac Word, even when I change the settings to the closest I can get to Australian spelling and grammar. I'm afraid no writing program does it all.
